Fife Nature Records Centre

Fife Nature Records Centre is the centre of reference for information relating to the biodiversity of the Kingdom of Fife, including:

  • Over 500,000 species records.
  • Details of more than 150 sites designated for their natural heritage value.
  • Information on habitats.

This information has been gathered by local and national organisations, professionals and members of the public.

Fife Nature Records Centre plays an active role in the protection of local wildlife by making this information available to a variety of individuals and organisations to assist with development planning, research and conservation.

Data Enquiry Service 

Fife Nature Records Centre offers a data enquiry service where users can request biological information. If you would like to receive species records or information on habitats or designated sites for a site in Fife, then please fill out and return an Information Request Form. Fife Nature Records Centre operates a charging policy for the provision of biological information, where the data is requested in relation to a commercial activity. Our Charging Policy contains details of the current changes.
